Biohazard Cleanup Services

Professional Biohazard Cleanup & Decontamination Services | Affinity Bio Solutions

Biohazardous materials present complex, layered risks that extend far beyond what is visible to the naked eye. Bacteria, viruses, prions, and toxic chemical agents can persist on porous and non-porous surfaces for days, weeks, or even months, creating ongoing exposure hazards that standard cleaning products are entirely unable to neutralize. At Affinity Bio Solutions, our certified biohazard remediation technicians apply a rigorous, science-based decontamination methodology that eliminates these invisible threats at the source; protecting families, property owners, property managers, and first responders from potentially life-altering health consequences.

What Qualifies as a Biohazard?

The term “biohazard” encompasses any biological substance that poses a threat to the health of living organisms, particularly humans. OSHA classifies biohazardous materials into four biosafety levels (BSL-1 through BSL-4) based on their infectivity, severity of disease, and transmissibility. The scenarios most commonly encountered in remediation work fall within BSL-2 and BSL-3 classifications, and include:

Human blood, blood products, and any material visibly contaminated with blood

Other potentially infectious materials (OPIM) including semen, vaginal secretions, cerebrospinal fluid, synovial fluid, pleural fluid, peritoneal fluid, pericardial fluid, amniotic fluid, and saliva in dental procedures

Body tissue, organs, and human remains in various states of decomposition

Used sharps, needles, and medical waste

Animal carcasses or biological materials from animals exposed to BSL-2 or higher pathogens

Methamphetamine lab residue, fentanyl contamination, and other chemical-biological hybrid hazards

Our Biohazard Remediation Process

Affinity Bio Solutions adheres to OSHA’s Bloodborne Pathogen Standard (29 CFR 1910.1030), EPA-registered disinfection protocols, and state-specific health department regulations. Every biohazard remediation engagement is executed in four structured phases:

Site Assessment & Risk Stratification:

Certified technicians conduct a thorough scene assessment, identifying all affected surfaces, air quality concerns, and structural penetration. We utilize ATP (adenosine triphosphate) bioluminescence testing and presumptive bloodstain identification reagents to map contamination that is not visible under ambient lighting.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) & Containment:

Technicians don Level B or Level C PPE; including Tyvek suits, nitrile gloves, N95 or full-face respirators, and eye protection and establish regulated containment zones using 6-mil poly sheeting and negative air pressure equipment when necessary.

Removal, Treatment & Disposal:

All biohazardous materials are carefully removed, double-bagged in color-coded, DOT-compliant biohazard containers, and transported to licensed medical waste disposal facilities. Affected surfaces are treated with EPA-registered, broad-spectrum hospital-grade disinfectants with demonstrated efficacy against bloodborne pathogens including HIV, HBV, HCV, MRSA, and C. difficile.

Verification & Clearance:

Following remediation, ATP swab testing and visual verification confirm that contamination levels meet or exceed applicable standards before we clear the scene.

Why Us?

Why Professional Biohazard Cleanup Is Non-Negotiable

Attempting to clean biohazardous materials without proper training, equipment, and licensing is not only dangerous; it may be illegal. Under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1030, employers must protect workers from exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Beyond legal requirements, improper cleanup can result in cross-contamination of unaffected areas, secondary exposure incidents, and permanent structural damage from biological degradation. Affinity Bio Solutions carries full liability insurance, and our technicians hold current certifications in bloodborne pathogen remediation, hazardous materials handling, and crime/trauma scene decontamination.

Affinity Bio Solutions is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We typically arrive on-site within 2 to 4 hours of initial contact and work with discretion, using unmarked vehicles upon request.
